A common cause of back and neck pain, which although can be very painful, are rarely indicative of severe damage. These respond rapidly to Physiotherapy at EMPC.
Sometimes, we develop poor postures and patterns of movement which can lead to neck or back pain. Making simple changes, guided by our expert physiotherapists at EMPC, can lead to dramatic improvements.
Lower back and neck osteoarthritis is very common as we age, and affects the cartilage and discs in the spinal joints over time, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Pain and mobility associated with spinal OA can be managed very effectively by our EMPC Physios.
Conditions where the intervertebral discs in the spine lose become damaged by trauma (more common in the young) or become subject to age related change with loss of hydration and elasticity. Both causes of discs damage can lead to severe pain and reduced mobility, sometimes with pain temporarily referred into the legs or arms, but can be managed very well by our EMPC expert physios.
This is a conditional where the spaces within your spine narrow due to age-related change, ageing discs or thickened ligaments, putting pressure on your spinal cord and nerves. It is often associated with a tingling or numbness alongside muscle weakness into the legs.
